Algeria is a country of northwest Africa bordering on the Mediterranean Sea. The region was settled c. 2000 bc by Berber-speaking people and later formed a part of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. and the Arabs in the seventh and eighth centuries introduced Islam and the Arabic language and culture. A French colonization from 1830, Algeria gained its independence in 1962 after more than seven years of fighting. Algiers is the capital and the largest city.

Algeria Has a great ancient culture and civilization , this great culture made many of writers write fictional stories according of ALGERIAN CIVILIZATION , the Algerian Culture is characterized by the traditional dress and cities and music .

It was a religious coexistence present in Algerian society , It was the Muslims and Christians and Jews lived  with each other in peace and  love , The Muslim society was characterized by The Sufism , they were known by Sufi Dance or Sufi Whirling in the Zawaya ( place of worship ) , They consider Sufi dance as a worship and draw closer to God .

The Most person known as Sufism Is " Emir AbdelKader " The Founder of the modern Algerian state ,   he was an Algerian " Sharif " religious and military leader who led a struggle against the French colonial invasion in the mid-19th century. An Islamic scholar and Sufi who unexpectedly found himself leading a military campaign, he built up a collection of Algerian tribesmen that for many years successfully held out against one of the most advanced armies in Europe. His consistent regard for what would now be called human rights, especially as regards his Christian opponents, drew widespread admiration, and a crucial intervention to save the Christian community of Damascus from a massacre in 1860 brought honours and awards from around the world. Within Algeria, his efforts to unite the country against foreign invaders saw him hailed as the "modern Jugurtha," and his ability to combine religious and political authority has led to his being acclaimed as the "Saint among the Princes, the Prince among the Saints .

Many historical researchers thinks that The story of  " Alladin " was written according to the Algerian environment and culture , So Alladin maybe he lived in Algeria .

 
In the recent period, Algeria had been a cultural invasion, so this culture has incline and lost.
